"I don't know." - 8th semester

Hi!
I know, it's been like more than a month.

So, yeah.
It's my 8th semester.
This is my 2nd week of this semester, already.
I don't know.
It feels like college, sometimes it doesn't.
I just don't know.

Truthfully, my classes aren't packed this semester.
Really.

When I don't have classes, I don't know what to do.
I can't just stay in my room, take long naps and going online all the time.
I can't just go dating all the time.
Well, those are my only options because I don't want to study, but I still want to pass.

But, when I do have classes, I want to go back to my room, as soon as possible.
Lectures are boring but sometimes it's fun.
I don't know.
I can only pay attention when the lecturer is saying something interesting, you know, something that attracts your attention.

That is all because, sometimes I feel like I have a future studying under this college, sometimes I don't.
Sometimes, I ask myself:
...What job will I get when I graduate?
...How much salary will I receive?
      ...Will I be unemployed?
...How can I help my parents?

I don't know what to do.
It's my third year in degree.
...and I have like 4 semesters to go.
I can't just stop studying.
I've gone this far.
I've survived 8 semesters.
I'd be really stupid if I decide to quit this college.

I can't say what my future is going to be like.
I leave everything in God's hands.
He knows best.

End of semester 7!

Well, well, well.
I made it through this semester.
It's the end of semester 7.
5 semesters to go.
Woohoo!!
Guess what?
This was one tough semester.
I would like to thank those of you who has helped me.
Without you, I would have given up on education, and life.
Because, I'm hoping to get a good result this semester.
*fingers crossed*

Oh and,
I'LL BE GOING HOME SOON!
Yeah, finally.
I've been here for 7 months.
Can you imagine, not seeing your family for 7 months?

Worst part is...
I'm gonna miss my boyfriend.
His sweater, his hug, his scent... EVERYTHING!
We wanted to spend time together, after my last paper.
Unfortunately, it seems a little impossible.
We were both busy packing and cleaning.
Eventually, my brain thinks that he doesn't love me anymore.
I know, typical, right?
Girls are like that.

I'll write up until here, 'cause I feel a heartache.
...and I feel like crying.

Avril Lavigne - Wish You Were Here
This song totally explains my whole situation right now.

The sound of trumpet coming from the sky.

Yes!
That's right!
The sound of trumpet coming from the sky.
If you're a Christian, you'd know what it means.

How did I know about this?
Well, yesterday I was scrolling through Miri Community's group page on Facebook and crossed upon a post.
It was a screenshot-ed news about a trumpet sound coming from the sky and the sound was heard throughout the US to Germany.
To be honest, it made me scared because I knew what it meant.

Today, I told Fiona about it and her eyes kinda bulged out.
She immediately asked me to show her the screenshot-ed news.
I searched for it in the group and came across something else.
It was video.
It didn't have any attractive title, description or thumbnail, but I opened and clicked play it anyway.
The venue of the video was at a parking lot and everyone was looking up into the sky, confused.
Weird sound coming from the sky.
When I first heard it, I knew exactly was it was.
It was the sound of trumpet.
I asked Fiona to come over and listen to it.
Then, Julie told us that the sound of trumpet from the sky was heard 5 days ago, in Bintulu, her hometown.
This is getting strange and scary.

I told my boyfriend, Puvin about it after dinner before he sent me back to my room.
After talking, I went back to my room and online.
I think about a half an hour later, Puvin called me.
He sounded panic and asked me to come out and see him.
I came out from my room and saw him on the phone.
I don't know who he was talking to, but I'm sure it was important by the looks from his face.
I asked him why did he call me out.
He walked towards me and placed his left hand on his chest.
He sat down on the stairs to my block and I sat with him.
He told me that the person he was on the phone with was his brother, Beron.
He said Beron had a dream about this yesterday morning.
He dreamt that he was walking, and then an old man stopped him by showing him a newspaper article.
While showing him that article, the old man said that the trumpet sound will come from Germany and it'll be doomsday for all of us.
Beron just took a swift look at the newspaper.
The old man continued, "The light will shine from Syria."

After I heard the story, I had goosebumps.
Seriously.
His brother even said that the article that came out is exactly like what he saw in his dream, but without the title. The layout was exactly the same.
We were speechless after he told me the story.

If you'd read
Matthew 24:31 "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

This news is by CNN Indonesia.
Translation: The sound of trumpet is heard from the US until Germany.

Another news.

This newspaper article is what Beron saw in his dream, except it doesn't have a title.
The layout is exactly the same.

The video that I saw in Miri Community's group page.

Seventh semester!

*Sorry again, for not updating.*

Guess what?
This is my second week of semester 7.
The first week was real tough.
Or should I say busy and stressful.
It was full with assignments, presentations' preparations, quiz, meetings and I had to go for my part time job too.
I barely have time to take naps.
Naps are pretty important to me.
I barely have time for my boyfriend too!

Oopps! Did I say boyfriend?
Oh no, you caught me.
Yeah, I have a boyfriend.
He's Indian.
I know, I know.
"WHAT???", right?

My boyfriend's not totally Indian though.
He's mixed.
He's an Indian-Bidayuh from Kuching, Sarawak.
Surprisingly, his lifestyle is like a Chinese.
Seriously.
He can use a pair of chopsticks way better than me.
I, as a Chinese, feel ashamed.

His name?
Nah, not gonna tell you, yet!

When did we started going out, or should I say dating?
Well, you find out.

Now, back to the topic about my new semester.

Since this is my second week of semester 7, I hope it wouldn't be as tough as last week.
It felt like I was struggling for my finals.
Gotta strive for the best this time.
I'm just aiming for a pointer of 3 and above.
I can't bear to see my pointer dropping.
I'll feel sad, really.

So yeah, I have 7 weeks left of this semester because it's a short one.
I can't wait to get everything over with.
7 weeks to go!

I CAN DO THIS!

Lazy, not busy.

Hello!
I'm back in Miri for my semester break.
Yeah, I know. It has been a few months since I last updated.
No, I wasn't busy. I was just lazy. I mean, I am.
Furthermore, the wifi is too far. Too far, I tell you.
I have to get out from my room to reach the wifi.
Ain't nobody got time for that.

What was I doing for the past few months?
Well, I was struggling to survive.
I had to study and work.
Study to get good results and work as a part-time waitress to pay my room's rental. (Not really. I used up the money to buy food!)
Sounds hardworking, right?
Yes, I study, but I always end up sleeping.
And yes, I work, but I always end up eating in the kitchen.
See! Lazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I've been busy eating and sleeping.
That's like my daily routine.
Ask me what do I do for fun?
It will always be eating and sleeping.
It started ever since I became a teenager.
Blame puberty.

Now, about the IELTS exam.
I did BAD!
Regret for not sleeping.
Yeah, I didn't sleep the night before the IELTS exam.
I fell asleep during the listening test.
I took more than 40 minutes to finish Section 1's reading test because when I read and read, I can't seem to focus.
The writing test was okay, I guess.
And then, there's this one more test that was 3 days after the other 3 tests.
It's called the speaking test.
I did BAD for this one too.
During the speaking test, the judge(?) will keep asking "Why?" so we would talk more.
I didn't know that until she hand me a note during the ongoing speaking test.
On the note, she wrote, "Why? means talk more."
That was nice of her, but still, I can't manage to talk more.
At the end of the speaking test, I asked the judge a question,
Me: "Can I pass?"
Judge: "How can you pass when you didn't talk more?"

What else?
Hmm... Well, there's this guy who has so much in common with me.
That's all I can tell, for now.
So yeah.
That's the end of my post.

*THE END*

Unexpected!

Yes, unexpected.
At the end of the day, I kept wondering, "Why did all these happen?"

Okay, here's how everything started:
This morning, I have 2 classes, which was IELTS and English Literature.
I woke up 10 minutes before class.
The first class started at 8.30am.
I went to the bathroom and shower.
I came out at 8.40am.
I told Amal that I'll be going to class at 9am.
She agreed to go late with me.
When it was time, we both went. (Fiona wasn't going.)
Unexpectedly, Mr. Gan did not say, "Good afternoon." to the both of us.
He always says that when his students are late.
He was expecting around 6 students to attend his class, but there were 18.
After we took our seats, Amal told me that Johnathan didn't come to class since his seat was empty.
So, we proceed with class.
Class ended at 10.30pm.
Those who didn't come for IELTS, burst in through the doors to get in.
Mr. Gan asked us to take a 5 minutes break.

I went back to my room.
I was lying on the bed and when I looked at my clock, it was already 10.50pm.
I was late again. I was on break for 20 minutes.
It felt as though as a minute just passed.

I quickly went up the stairs to class and when I reached class, the class had not even started.
So, we were going to answer some questions on the board and present our presentation.
Bla, bla, bla!
It was time for presentation.
Mr. Gan asked, "Who wants to go first?"
Amal pointed me and Johnathan's gang said, "Johnathan!"
Then, Elena said, "Karen first, then Johnathan."
I felt something was wrong.
Unexpectedly, Elena went first.
After her presentation, I don't know who was presenting next, me or Johnathan.
I looked to where Johnathan was sitting and I heard him saying, "我还没有准备好。" (I am not ready), while going through his file.
But he went in front and present.
His focus was "Sacrifice."
When he was presenting, I didn't want to look at him.
I heard Fiona saying, "Look in front."
While he was presenting, Mr. Gan kept saying, "We already know that."
Mr. Gan also said, "If you have a teacher like this, what will happen to the students?"
Amal answered, "Fail!"
I laughed.
I shouldn't have done that.

After Johnathan finished presenting, it was my turn.
I went in front and stated:
1. Presentation 1 or 2
2. My topic
3. My focus

When I said my focus was "Love is blind."
Everyone kept quite. Literally.
I sensed something was wrong again.
I started talking about my presentation and Fiona laughed.
I know why she laughed. It was as though as I was talking about Johnathan.
Well, I wasn't.
After finished presenting, the presenter has to ask the students a question.
My question was, "Do you think love is blind? Why?"
Mr. Gan asked me to choose someone.
I saw Fiona laughing, so I chose Fiona.
Mr. Gan asked her, "Fiona, what do you think? Do you think love is blind?"
Fiona: "Based of my life, as her roommate, love is very blind."
The whole class laughed.
I was starting to think that she was trying to exposed about me having a crush.
Mr. Gan: "Very blind?"
Fiona: "Not very blind, but blind."
Mr. Gan: "Why?"
Fiona: (Looking towards me) "Do you really want me to answer?"
Me: "NO! Thank you. Catherine?"
Wei Jian: "No, I want Fiona to answer."
Catherine: "Sheldon Cooper is talking." (And she explained her answer.)
After that, a debate happened between Catherine, Elena and Anthony.
Jenq Shiuan: (Raised his hands) Love is unconditionally. (And explained his answer.)
Jenq Shiuan's answer was really good.
If not mistaken, Wei Jian said he wanted to know my answer.
Mr. Gan: "Yes, Karen? What is your answer?"
Me: "I think love is blind because you can't see the flaws or weaknesses."
Wei Jian: "Wrong answer."
Catherine: "There is no right or wrong answer."
Mr. Gan: "Be more specific."
Everyone nodded and waited.
Me: "I can't answer."
Mr. Gan: "It's not that you can't answer, you just can't find the right words to explain."
I nodded and wanted to go back to my seat immediately.
Thank goodness Mr. Gan let me off.

No wonder I sensed something wrong.
I think they knew, because I saw them looking at Johnathan.
That was embarrassing.

After class, I quickly went out.
I can't bear to face the people in class.
I went for lunch.
While having lunch, we saw Serra, Nicole and Ashwini.
They were taking everything from the room to Serra's car.
We asked Serra where was she going.
She said, "Quit."
She was quitting college!
Unexpectedly, I was feeling sad.
Seriously, SAD!
We took pictures with her.
And, off she went.

After lunch, we were going to Melaka Central to buy bus tickets.
We went back to our room and get ready.
Wanie and Atiqah were going to bring us.
After we bought the tickets, we went to AEON because Wanie and Atiqah wanted to buy books using their vouchers.
We were going up to the first floor and I was leading the way to Popular.
I was a few steps ahead of Amal, Fiona, Wanie and Atiqah.
We were almost there.
That's when I saw Johnathan!
I stopped walking and saw Wei Jian next to him.
I turned around and run to the back of Fiona while saying, "Johnathan! I saw Johnathan!"
They asked me, "Where?"
And they saw him.
Jenq Shiuan and Johnathan came near and I heard Jenq Shiuan said, "真巧。" (What a coincidence.)
I wasn't staying, so I walked my way to Popular.
THAT WAS REALLY UNEXPECTED!
I didn't know he was going to be there.
You know what? Amal and Fiona told me that they had a feeling that Johnathan was going to be there.
Wow!

We went back and arrived college around 5.30pm.
Fiona got ready for her Futsal training and I was ready to go jogging.
I went out and wanted to use my usual way, which was passing by the swimming pool.
I changed my mind when I saw Johnathan's bottle and slippers.
I saw Johnathan looking at me.
NOOOOOO!!!!

After what had happened today, I decided not to come out from my room.
Luckily, tomorrow is Saturday.
I don't even need to get out from my room.

Coincidence or fate?

First of all, I just wanna tell everyone that it's my best day ever!
Why, you wonder?
Okay, I'll tell you.

Today, we went to the theatre.
Fiona wasn't going because she sold her ticket to Eshal.
So, that's left me, Amal and Julie.
We were told that those who were going need to be at the lobby around 7pm.
When we reached the lobby, we saw Elena, Joanne, Janice, Wei Jian and Johnathan.
Amal asked them if they were going and yes, they were.
Johnathan was wearing a black and white long sleeves, and so was I, except with short sleeves.
Coincidence? I think not.

We were going to the theatre by van that Ms Helen had provided.
Who is Ms Helen?
She's one of the best lecturer.
She's the one that we were going to see in the play.
Back to the story.
Everyone went into the van.
Shangeri and Huda went in first and sat at the last row.
Joanne and Elena went in after and sat at the first row.
After that, Johnathan went in and sat at the second row.
Amal went in and sat next to Shangeri.
I was standing outside of the van, figuring out where to sit.
Suddenly, I saw Elena patting the empty seat right behind her, which was next to Johnathan.
And yes, I went in and sat next to Johnathan.
Janice sat next to Elena, while Wei Jian sat in front with the driver.

It felt so uncomfortable sitting next to Johnathan.
It was really awkward.
I didn't know what to do.
I looked behind, where Julie and Amal was sitting.
Amal said, "Kelaka" to me.
It means, 'Start a conversation' in the Sarawak language.
I told her that I don't want to.
So, it was awkward silence between me and him.
Still, I was happy sitting right next to him.
It was like 2cm apart.
Hahahahaha.

Upon arrival, we saw a lot of high class people. Literally.
Almost everyone was wearing formally.
And mostly were middle aged people.
We were considered the youngest there.
After taking our goodies bag, we were asked to go inside the auditorium.
It was so cool and cold.
I was sitting right behind of Johnathan.
It was a good opportunity.
Opportunity for what?
Opportunity for taking pictures of him.
And yeah, I took so much of it.

I told Amal that we should take pictures together with Julie.
Guess what!
Amal snatched away my phone from me and passed it to Johnathan, asking him to take our pictures.
He said that he wanted to take a selfie first. Haha.
Then, he asked me which part of the screen to touch to take our picture.
I told him.
After he took our pictures, I totally forgot that I took his picture from behind before my phone was passed to Johnathan.
It's no big deal? IT IS A BIG DEAL!
My camera application shows tiny pictures of the previous pictures taken.
I bet he saw his picture.
NOOOOOOO!!

About 20 minutes after,
A guy that really attracted me walk in.
He was wearing a black singlet, shorts and shoes.
He has tattoos and piercings.
I kept looking at him and all my friends noticed.
I said that he looked like Shafiq.
After he sat down, just across of Elena's row, I said this aloud: "He looks like Jay Park!"
They all laughed and agreed.
Johnathan immediately asked Janice, "谁是Jay Park?" (Who is Jay Park?"
Janice went on instagram and show him a picture of Jay Park.
He said that they don't look alike at all -.-
Oh and, Elena took pictures of us all using her phone.
Thank you, Elena! :)

Around 8.30pm, the play started.
It was going on and on.
Then, there was a 15 minutes interval.
My Jay Park went out.
To be honest, during the play, I planned to approached 'Jay Park' and take a picture with him.
When I came out from the auditorium, I saw him and he was looking at me.
He was talking to an elderly woman, so I went to the toilet first.
After coming out from the toilet, I walked to where he was and he looked at me, again!
But he was still talking to the elderly.
I wouldn't want to interrupt.
It's a matter of respect.
The play was about to start, so my friends and I went in.
A few minutes later, 'Jay Park' walked in.
He sat in front with someone.
I assume that it's his mother.
After that, his 'mother' walked away from her seat and talked to someone else.
'Jay Park' was alone and Amal said that it was a good opportunity.
Too bad, the lighting wasn't good enough. It was dimmed.
Didn't take any picture.

And then, the last play started.
Ms Helen was in it.
We cheered for her when she appeared.
She was doing really well.
Good job!

After the play ended, 'Jay Park' went out immediately.
I shouted, 'My Jay Park!' and Johnathan giggled and looked at him going out.
So much for taking a picture with him.
I wanted to chase him, but Amal said that we should take a picture with Ms Helen.
So yeah, I went to Ms Helen.
We went on stage and something happened.
I didn't know what I did but, my butt hit something right behind me.
I looked back and saw Johnathan.
My 'behind' bumped into Johnathan's 'front.'
Why, oh why?
I saw Wei Jian laughing. Man, why did you have to see that?
That was embarrassing.
I really didn't know Johnathan was behind me.

Never mind about that.
So, we took a picture or two with Ms Helen and her husband.
After coming down from stage, I told Amal what had happened.
We went to the toilet and then the parking lot.
We waited for the van for about 20 minutes, I guess.
I think Johnathan was staring at me.
He was leaning at the wall and staring at me. (My assumption)

When the van arrived, I sat behind with Amal and Julie.
He was sitting in the first row, where Joanne was sitting earlier.
Our destination was McDonalds because we were very hungry.
At McD, only Amal and Johnathan stayed in the van.

Julie and I lined up in the same queue.
When it was my turn to pick up my order, everyone vanished.
I looked around again and I saw Johnathan near the one sided door.
He was waiting and walking around.
I thought he was waiting for Wei Jian.
I ignored him and went back to the van.
You know what?
Everyone was already in the van.
Does that mean Johnathan was waiting for me?
Please tell me he was.

After arriving college, he immediately went out of the van and said, "MU!"
Oooohhhh! He's a fan of Manchester United.
While on our way back to our room, Amal told me something.
She said that Johnathan talked to her.
Johnathan: Tidak makan/turun ka?
Amal: Tidak.
Johnathan: Suruh Karen belanja.
Something like that. I forgot what she told me.
OMG! He said my name. Hahahaha

I guess that's my story.
Long, isn't it?
I still can't get my mind off of what happened on stage.

The booklet they gave us.

The picture of Johnathan before he helped us to take our picture.

This was the picture he took for us.

There's my 'Jay Park.'

A picture with Ms Helen and her husband on stage.

*THE END*
